The Best LinkedIn Summary Examples

Make it easy for people to understand you with your personal brand LinkedIn summary.

The benefits of LinkedIn are countless. With the click of a few buttons, you can find your dream job, your dream client, or your dream colleague. And with the new LinkedIn Live (by the way, connect with me), the social network is basically like Facebook's responsible, accessible, and useful older sibling.

So, like I said, LinkedIn makes it easy for you to find people. But have you ever considered how LinkedIn can also help people discover you?

1. For the love of whatever you believe in, don't write in third person.

Your LinkedIn profile is a personal profile. Obviously you created it. Do you like when people speak in third person IRL? No? Then don't do it on LinkedIn. Stick with first person like a socially competent professional—you won't regret it.

2. Explain your value in human terms.

Yes, keywords matter and yes, industry words can be useful. That being said, I'm of the school of thought where humanity always usurps keywords. Be human. Write your bio like a normal person. Explain your expertise and value offering in a way that a 12-year-old could understand, and use tools like Temi and Grammarly to help you get there.

3. Make it easy for the right people to get in touch.

This here is the key. Including your email address is one thing, but I encourage you to explain the types of people you'd like to receive emails from. For example:
