Phil
Well, hello there. Welcome to Brand Therapy. I'm Phil.
Lauren
And I'm Lauren.
Phil
And this is a podcast where we help you position, build and promote your brand. Oh, am I ever excited today we're doing something that we have never ever done before. And you know, that's hard to say when you've done as many episodes as we have of a podcast. Doesn’t it kind of feel Lauren like, you know, we really need to push the boundaries of creativity to keep coming up with topics and ideas on things we haven't talked about. But oh boy, do we have one today.
Lauren
So the title of today's episode is how can you hammer out content? And the answer?
Phil
How do you do it? Tell us, what’s the answer?
Lauren
The answer is to actually create. content while you listen to this episode. We're going to be giving writing prompts to inspire posts that you create. And they are going to be two minutes after each question where you can scribble out your idea. But I challenge you listener, to take it a step further. And actually pause somewhere in those two minutes. And completely finish your posts from start to finish. If you're posting on Instagram, create your graphic, figure out your photo, write your caption, schedule it however you do it. If you're doing it on LinkedIn, then figure out what hashtags you might be using and where you might be commenting before and after the post. Really, really utilize this time to hammer out seven awesome posts that you can publish to your channels right away.
Phil
It's almost like a meditation but not our version of you know, helping you get in the zone to be productive and to show up on social media in a way that is hopefully going to help you and your business and your brand we got this idea because we often do this with more hand holding with our clients that are in our program. Advance is our group coaching program that is only open to clients who we branded and we built websites for. brand identities and we help these clients for a six month or longer span you know get organized and succeed online. And we often do these working sessions as I said with hand holding which they pay for you're not paying for it so you're not getting it but we will do a mini version of it in this episode, and you'll have to let us know what you think at the end. But I say let's get right to it.
Lauren
Amazing. Okay, the first writing prompt.
Phil
Here we go.
Lauren
Share your brand's proudest moment and why.
Phil
Two minutes on the clock, two minutes exactly. You have two minutes to write don't drive and write but you know be responsible and be creative. Good luck.
Okay, so there we go two minutes on the clock. How did you listener? Obviously, I can't hear you responding. But hopefully you had some time. I always find, don't you find Lauren that it helps to have a finite amount of time to create, I think we can let social media content create consumers and take a lot of time. But as soon as you actually set a timer, even if you don't follow it, I don't know there's something about the psychology of that, that helps you spring into action and make decisions quicker and hopefully listener to what you're experiencing.
Lauren
Yeah, isn't there an Elon Musk quote about something like that? If you give yourself 30 days to clean your house, it's going to take 30 days, but if you're giving yourself three hours, it's going to be done in three hours.
Phil
Yeah, that's well, if that's his quote, then that represents what we're doing today. That was the first prompt. Shall we move on?
Lauren
Oh, yeah. All right, writing prompt number two: make three predictions for your industry in the next 10 years. And one thing to note, I said writing prompts but know that we're also open to video here. So you could film yourself you could do a reel you don't have to just write.
Phil
Two minutes start now.
Okay, time's up. Oh, that was good. I liked that prompt. Shall we continue on?
Lauren
Oh, yes. Okay, prompt number three: write your favorite quote and explain why. Two minutes on the clock starts now.
Phil
That's it. That's two minutes. It goes by very quickly. Lauren, I'm gonna put you on the spot. What's your favorite quote?
Lauren
Oh, that's a good question.
Phil
Is it the one by Elon Musk?
No, no, I do. I do like that one. I also don't know if it's actually by him. I saw it on TikTok. This might be a fake news situation where I'm spreading rumors about Elon Musk saying some quote but whatever. I don't know what my favorite quote is. I think there's a Dr. Seuss quote that I really love. “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind”.
Phil
Oh, wow, that's cute. even have it memorized.
Lauren
It's the only quote I have memorized. The Elon Musk one I just potentially made up anyway. Okay,
Phil
Let's keep going.
Lauren
All right, give three reasons why someone should invest in your most important service.
Phil
I love this. Time on the clock here we go.
Lauren
Okay, time's up. Phil, what are your three reasons why someone should invest in your most important service?
Phil
Okay, well, let's say my most important service, I think everything we do is important. But I would say creating a website is hugely important. And there's people out there that say in 2022 and beyond your website doesn't matter. But I totally disagree. And I have a different perspective on this. So let me give you three reasons.
Reason number one, why someone should invest in this service. The final product is important, but actually the exercise of creating and organizing your business and your services in the way you communicate yourself. And your business is far more important. That exercise transcends just the website, but the website is the excuse to do it.
Reason number two, what makes us special versus someone else that might farm out the project or outsource it, we do everything in house. I can literally drop into a line of code in your CSS, which either wrote or I sourced and I can tell you exactly what it is and what it does. So we have complete control over websites that we sell to our clients and hand over with the keys and lots of instructions. And I love that about how we do it. I think it's special. Reason number three, I would say because our process is so thorough the website is really an exciting moment where all this separate elements that we build up to that point come together copy photography, layout, design, build all of that and I think because our process is so thorough, our websites are better than a lot of our competitors, and that's why people should hire us. How did I do?
Lauren
You did great. You did great.
Phil
Right on the spot. That could be three posts. If I wanted.
Lauren
It could be a YouTube video, could be a blog post, could be an Instagram carousel and could be a reel.
Phil
There we go. Exhibit A boomy Bumi. Shall we keep doing a few more prompts?
Lauren
Okay name an obstacle your brand faced and how you overcame it.
Phil
Time starts now.
Lauren
Wow two minutes goes really quick.
Phil
It does go by quickly but I feel excited for the listener because I've often found that one single prompt, when you start to boil it down you start to write it you almost have more meat than will fit in the burger. So you got to make a second burger right? You can save those points for another post and just getting in this zone listener that we're in right now at this is such a good zone you can keep creating you can batch create and that saves stress and pressure moving forward. I think we have two more prompts what's the next one?
Lauren
Write three goals for the next year and share why they're important to your brand.
Phil
Oh I love goals. Timer starts now?
Oh that was good, that was good. I feel and I've said this before we've said this before. Revisiting your goals. probably the most important thing that you can do in business because really nothing else matters unless it's aligned with your goals, that's a good one. That's a good one. I think we have one more prompt. What is it?
Lauren
Name three brands that inspire you now and explain why.
phil
Oh, you love this one. I know you love this one.
Lauren
I love any opportunity to tag because it really helps get eyes on your posts.
Phil
So keep that in mind and get writing. Is it your last prompt time starting now.
Phil
That's it, Time's up. Time's up. What a fun little exercise we did today. This was fun. Obviously, we can't hear you right now. We wish we could hear you.
