Michele Plachter approached us with a clear goal: updating her firm’s online presence to reflect its prestige and capabilities. Unlike many high-end design firms that lean on neutral modern aesthetics, Michele Plachter Designs packs a punch into every room. We needed to provide a comprehensive brand identity that set her firm apart from the competition—and, spoiler alert, we succeeded.
With a shape-shifting style that’s challenging to articulate (other than stunning), we focused on creating a logo that complemented MPD’s versatile sensibility. With movement and clean lines, the logo acts as a subtle seal of MPD’s high design standards.
MPD is all about color, so it made sense to depart from “typical” interior design branding (white backgrounds, greyscale color scheme) and instead create a vibrant system of unexpected color combinations. It’s not often that you see olive, teal, and chartreuse in the same brand, and yet it all works—just like MPD’s design examples.
During our kick-off brand audit consultation, we arrived at the following to describe the Michele Plachter Design brand:
Brand sentence
We’re a renowned full-service interior design firm that creates daringly beautiful spaces for Philadelphia, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and beyond.
While Michele is the face and brains behind MPD, her team plays a vital role in bringing clients’ visions to life. Instead of solely relying on gorgeous portfolio images, we oversaw a lifestyle photo and video shoot to capture the behind-the-scenes energy that clients get to experience. The result: a tight-knit, capable, and approachable team that’s committed to stunning spaces.
Our work with MPD’s website was very intentional. Inspired by the artful spreads in magazines like Architectural Digest, we used the brand’s unique color scheme to make each portfolio example pop.
Not only are we proud of the work accomplished together, but we genuinely respect the whole team at DRC. The owners are hard working and whip smart, now equipped with a brand that does justice to their respected businesses.
